Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a technology for assisting in the resolution of a defect caused in a system including an audio/video device. [Solution] A resolution assistance program storage unit 7 has a resolution assistance program stored therein with respect to each assumed defect that assists in the work for a user to resolve the defect. At least one of the resolution assistance programs corresponding to a defect having multiple possible causes includes processing for displaying a message encouraging a user to perform a predetermined work, processing of displaying a question for the user, processing for receiving an answer to the question from the user, and processing for displaying a message indicating a solution corresponding to the received answer. A main control unit 9 determines a defect on the basis of information acquired via an audio/video signal input interface unit 3 and an audio/video signal output interface unit 4, and executes a resolution assistance program corresponding to the defect concerned.
