A diamond-metal matrix composite material, segments and a preparation method therefor. The diamond-metal matrix composite material is composed of metal powder and diamonds, the metal powder is made into a honeycomb structure, and a hollow portion of the honeycomb structure is filled with diamonds. The segments are composed of working portions and supporting portions, and the supporting portions are used for supporting the working portions. The working portions are a diamond-metal matrix composite material, and the supporting portions are a cemented carbide matrices. In the diamond-metal matrix composite material segments, the diamonds are uniformly distributed in the segments, the segments have superior impact toughness and wear resistance, the impact toughness is 5-6J/cm2, and the wear ratio is 0.3-0.4 million. The diamond-metal matrix composite material segments can be used in deep-sea, deep-well exploration and long-horizontal shale gas-drilling using cutting teeth of a drill bit, and can be drilled in a complex formation, and the service life of the drill bit is long, so that requirements for "one-pass drilling" can be met.
