Abstract:
This differential device is housed in a carrier together with a lubricating oil and detachably connects an input gear to a pair of axle shafts, the differential device being provided with: a ring gear provided with a row of teeth arranged around the shaft and meshing with the input gear; an outer case that is joined to the ring gear and that is rotatable about the shaft; an inner case that is rotatable about the shaft relatively to the outer case and that has one end with dog teeth erected along the shaft; a differential gear set that is supported by the inner case and that is joined to the pair of axle shafts to allow differential motion between the axle shafts; a clutch member that is engaged with the outer case and that is detachably connected to the dog teeth so as to whirl-stop the inner case with respect to the outer case; and a through hole that passes through the outer case and is opened on the outer surface and that is disposed to expose the dog teeth radially outward from the outer case.
