Abstract:

A receiver for enabling viewing without any awareness of discontinuity on the reception side at the time of an instantaneous signal discontinuity when a signal is resumed within an extremely short time such as switching the system on the transmission side, to minimize the influence of the instantaneous service interruption. The receiver detects the instantaneous interruption in digital broadcasting waves by means of a deficiency of a synchronous code or a multiplexed transmission control signal to retain the acquired data and statuses (e.g., program arrangement information, tuning information or reference time information) of the individual portions of the receiver such as an antenna converter (1), a tuner digital demodulation unit (2), a transmission line encoding decoding unit (3), a stream multiplex separation unit (4), and a video voice decoding unit (5), and prepares such actions for a resynchronization as will change the individual closed loop characteristics to optimum ones.
