Abstract:
Provided is a dilator that can suppress displacement, in a lengthwise axis direction, of a protrusion that extends in a helical shape. This dilator comprises: a first coil 2, the outer diameter of which increases from a distal end toward a proximal end; and a protrusion 3A that is provided to the outer circumference of the first coil 2, and extends along the outer circumference of the first coil 2 in a helical shape along a lengthwise axis direction of the first coil 2. The protrusion 3A has intervals 3B between neighboring sections of the protrusion 3A along the lengthwise axis direction. A covering layer 5 is provided that covers at least an outer circumferential surface 2A of the first coil 2, said outer circumferential surface 2A being located in the intervals 3B. A top section 3D of the protrusion 3A is exposed.
