Abstract:
A direct-current circuit breaker (1) is provided with a breaking part (11) and a circuit part that generates an oscillating current. The circuit part comprises a capacitor (15) and a reactor (14) that produce the oscillating current, a high-speed closing device (12) that performs closing for forming a current zero point, and an arrester (13) for suppressing overvoltage of the capacitor (15). The breaking part (11) and the high-speed closing device (12) are arranged in a first direction with a distance larger than or equal to a fixed clearance kept therebetween. The capacitor (15) and the arrester (13) are arranged in a second direction that is a direction crossing the first direction with a distance larger than or equal to the clearance kept therebetween. A combination of the breaking part (11) and the high-speed closing device (12) and a combination of the capacitor (15) and the arrester (13) are arranged in a third direction crossing the first direction and the second direction with a distance larger than or equal to the clearance kept therebetween.
