Abstract:
The present invention relates to a discharge lamp configured to prevent breakage of an outer bulb caused by breakage of a luminous tube, without increasing the number of components or decreasing light emission efficiency. A discharge lamp comprises: a luminous tube (2); a protection tube (3) which has an approximately cylindrical shape surrounding at least a main tube part (21) of the luminous tube (2); and an outer bulb (4) which accommodates the luminous tube (2) and the protection tube (3). The inner surface of the protection tube (3) has a convex surface (3a) protruding toward the main tube part (21).
