Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a discharge lamp wherein: a xenon gas is sealed within a discharge vessel so as to serve as a light emitting gas, said discharge vessel being formed of quartz glass; a pair of electrodes are arranged so as to face each other in the discharge vessel; the discharge vessel is provided with a chip part; and ultraviolet light strain accumulated in the chip part is able to be suppressed more suitably.
[Solution] This discharge lamp is characterized in that: the chip part is configured from a glass member which has a composition different from that of the discharge vessel; and the glass member has a transmittance of 50% or more over the entire wavelength range from 170 nm to 300 nm.
