Abstract:

A display brightness adjusting method is disclosed. The method comprises: an electronic device obtains an image to be displayed; the electronic device determines, according to the image to be displayed, an average pixel brightness value of each backlight partition on a liquid-crystal display panel; the backlight region of the liquid-crystal display panel is divided into a plurality of backlight partitions; the electronic device determines, according to the average pixel brightness value of each backlight partition, an initial dimming mark-to-space ratio which corresponds to each backlight partition. The electronic device determines a driving current value according to the initial dimming mark-to-space ratio which corresponds to each backlight partition and driving current threshold data. The electronic device adjusts, according to the driving current value, the brightness of the backlight region when the image to be displayed is displayed. In this way, the display brightness of the image being displayed is automatically and continuously adjusted according to the content of the image being displayed.
