Abstract:
This display device displays an image, each frame of which is configured from at least two subframes. The display device comprises a drive unit for driving a plurality of pixels in a pixel array such that at least two rows of pixels are driven on the basis of the pixel data for each row of each subframe data that is supplied. The drive unit drives the plurality of pixels so as to cause the pixels of a row that does not match the row of the current subframe data being supplied to be illuminated under a first condition and to cause the pixels of a row that matches the row of the current subframe data to be illuminated under a second condition. The amount of illuminance when pixels are illuminated in accordance with the same pixel value under the second condition is greater than that under the first condition.
