Abstract:
According to a display device and a method for driving same according to an embodiment of the present invention, when a control signal is received from an external device through an external device interface, whether or not to process the received control signal can be adaptively determined for the display device according to the content viewing environment of a user. A display device according to an embodiment of the present invention may comprise: an external device interface; a display for displaying content; and a controller which receives a power off request signal from an external device connected through an external device interface, and, if it is determined that the content being displayed on the display is not content provided from the external device, ignores and does not process the power off request signal received from the external device.
