Abstract:
According to embodiments, a display device and a method for operating same are disclosed. A display device (100) comprises: a communication interface, a display, a camera, a memory (130) storing one or more instructions, and at least one processor (140) which executes the one or more instructions stored in the memory, wherein the processor (140) is configured to: acquire an image by controlling the camera so as to perform imaging; identify an electronic device by controlling the communication interface while the imaging is being performed; acquire a registered avatar image corresponding to the identified electronic device; identify a user associated with the identified electronic device from the image; and generate and display an augmented reality image by replacing at least a portion of a body of the identified user in the image with the avatar image.
