Abstract:
According to embodiments, a display device and an operating method thereof are disclosed. The disclosed display device comprises: a display; a reproduction unit for reproducing content; a memory storing at least one instruction; and a processor which executes the at least one instruction stored in the memory, wherein the processor executes the at least one instruction to: obtain characteristics of content requested to be reproduced; obtain a first value according to the characteristics of the content as a first latency threshold value, which serves as a reference for a latency adjustment operation; measure latency of the content while the content is reproduced by the reproduction unit; determine whether the latency of the content exceeds the first value determined to correspond to the characteristics of the content; and in response to the latency of the content exceeding the first value, control the reproduction unit to perform dropping of at least some of frames corresponding to the content.
