Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a display device and timepiece capable of achieving both high display quality when an image is displayed and excellent touch operability. A display device according to an embodiment comprises: a display part including a first substrate, a second substrate opposed to the first substrate, a liquid crystal layer sealed between the first substrate and the second substrate, pixel electrodes, and counter electrodes; a plurality of sensor electrodes disposed around the display part; and a shield electrode which, in plan view, is disposed between the plurality of sensor electrodes and a pixel electrode or a counter electrode that is located closest to the boundary between the display part and a non-display part surrounding the display part, and to which a predetermined reference voltage is applied.
