Abstract:
In the present invention, each pixel (31) is configured from a plurality of R pixels (41), G pixels (42), and B pixels (43) that display different colors, and W pixels (44) that display white that is a mixture of the colors that the R pixels (41), G pixels (42), and B pixels (43) display. A drive unit (20) drives the R pixels (41), G pixels (42), and B pixels (43) using a target gamma curve (C0) having target gamma characteristics (γ0) and drives each of at least a portion of the W pixels (44) for each position of disposition or each frame using any of a plurality of gamma curves including a gamma curve (C1) having gamma characteristics (γ1) that differ from the target gamma characteristics (γ0) and a gamma curve (C2) having gamma characteristics (γ2) that differ from both the target gamma characteristics (γ0) and the other gamma characteristics (γ1).
