Abstract:
The purpose of the invention is to suppress variations in brightness degradation in a display. A display device (1) according to the invention displays information using self-illuminating type display elements and is provided with a display unit (3) wherein a plurality of pixels formed from a plurality of color sub-pixels are disposed and a control unit (20) that controls driving of the display unit (3). The control unit (20) records cumulative brightness for each sub-pixel and calculates an amount of brightness adjustment for each sub-pixel on the basis of the differences in cumulative brightness. The control unit (20) detects if a viewer of the display device (1) is not present, generates a corrected image according to the amount of brightness adjustment and displays the corrected image on the display unit (3) during the absence of the viewer.
