Abstract:
A screen (2) is equipped with a diffraction member (3) and a scattering member (4). The diffraction member (3) selectively diffracts video light, and orients this light toward an observer (6), and in the scattering member (4) the degree of scattering differs according to the oscillation direction of the polarized light, so that the degree of scattering of the video light is higher than the degree of scattering of the environment light entering from opposite side from the observer (6) side, with respect to the scattering member (4). Therefore, by means of a relatively simple industrial manufacturing process, and regardless of the positions where the screen and the projector projecting the video light are arranged, it is possible to ensure the brightness of the screen in the frontal direction and to ensure a wide viewing angle, and to ensure the visual clarity of the image through the entire screen.
