Abstract:
This display device is provided with: a first display unit which is a transmissive-type display unit; a transparent back light which is formed from a transparent member, is provided on the side of the first display unit opposite of the viewing surface thereof and emits light towards the first display unit; a light source which emits object light from an object disposed on the side of the transparent backlight opposite of the light-emitting surface thereof towards the transparent backlight and the first display unit; and a control unit which controls the first display unit, the transparent backlight and the light source so as to bring about a state in which an image is displayed on the first display unit with light emitted by the transparent backlight and the object light is emitted after passing through the transparent backlight and the first display unit.
