Abstract:
The present invention is equipped with a display (40) for displaying the current state of the engine compression ratio when a variable compression ratio mechanism (20) capable of changing the engine compression ratio in an internal combustion engine is provided. For example, when driving with an engine compression ratio with good fuel economy the driver can be notified that the driving state is one with good fuel economy, without unnecessarily switching the display during acceleration of the vehicle. In addition, when the state switches from a driving state with good fuel economy to a driving state with poor fuel economy due to sudden pressing of the gas pedal, for example, the display of the engine compression ratio changes in response thereto.
