Abstract:
Provided is a display device with which it is possible to prevent a misunderstanding that a forward object has been detected correctly from being imparted when the forward object has not been detected correctly. The display device displays a virtual image V superimposed on a scene in front of a vehicle, and is provided with an acquiring means, an identifying means, and a display control means. The acquiring means acquires detected information for identifying the position of a forward object in front of the vehicle, from a forward detecting unit. The identifying means identifies an abnormal state, which is a state in which the position of the forward object cannot be correctly identified, on the basis of the detected information acquired by the acquiring means within a prescribed period of time. The display control means controls an image displayed within a display region of the virtual image V, and is capable of displaying a notification image providing a notification of the forward object. If an abnormal state has been identified, the display control means displays an instruction image C indicating that the abnormal state has occurred, in a manner having a lower visibility than the notification image.
