Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a display device (image display device) that can suppress the generation of light (unnecessary light) other than light (image display light) oriented toward a wearer, and that can suppress the cost for manufacturing the display device. A display device (100) of the present invention comprises: an image display element (41); a collimating optical system (51) that collimates light emitted from the image display element (41); a light guide plate (31) on which light emitted from the collimating optical system (51) is incident, and which reflects and guides all of said incident light; a first optical element (11) that is arranged on the light guide plate (31) and introduces said incident light into the light guide plate (31); and a plurality of second optical elements (21) that are arranged on the light guide plate (31) and emit, to the outside of the wave guide plate (31), light that has propagated, via total reflection, within the light guide plate (31).
