Abstract:
According to the present invention, a display device includes, on the same substrate, a first electrode, a second electrode, a pixel separation layer, a pixel dimension control layer, an organic layer that includes a light-emission layer, a sealing layer, a color filter layer, and a black matrix layer. The pixel separation layer includes a (D-DL) colorant, the optical density of the pixel separation layer for wavelengths of visible light is 0.5–3.0 per 1 μm of film thickness, a pixel dimension control layer part is formed so as to cover at least a portion of a pixel separation layer part and at least a portion of a first electrode part as seen in plan view, and the pixel dimension control layer satisfies at least one of conditions (1)–(3). (1) The pixel dimension control layer does not contain a (D-DL) colorant. (2) The pixel dimension control layer includes a (D-DL) colorant, and the optical density of the pixel dimension control layer for wavelengths of visible light is 0.0–0.3 per 1 μm of film thickness. (3) The pixel dimension control layer includes a compound that has a (C2x-DL) indene carboxylic acid ester structure and/or sulfonic acid aryl ester structure. The present invention provides an organic EL display that has excellent pattern dimension uniformity, excellent outside light reflection suppression effects, high light-emission intensity, and high light-emitting element reliability.
