Description:
DISPLAY SlAND AND METHOD

The present invention relates to a display stand for securely displaying a product, such as a tablet or mobile phone, on a display surface, such as a counter. Furthermore, the present invention relates to a method for securely displaying of a product by means of such a display stand.

For displaying valuable products to the public, such as during performing sales services therefore, it is a known problem that it is preferred on the one hand that a product is displayed as attractively and accessibly as possible, while on the other hand, the product is to be secured against removing it. To this end, many solutions are available, such as solutions in which the product is displayed behind glass, solutions in which the product is displayed in a holder and solutions in which the product is fixedly displayed. Also known are solutions in which a product is mounted to an extensible steel cable. Such solutions have as this advantage that an uncomfortable lump is mounted to the backside because of which the product is not easily holdable and the original nature of the handle ability of the product is only discernible in a limited fashion. Also the arrangement, guidance and fastening of a power cable in such a solution limits the handyness.

In order to overcome such disadvantages, the present invention provides a display stand for securely displaying a product, such as a tablet or mobile phone, on a display surface, such as a counter, in which the display stand comprises :

- a base element for arrangement thereof on the display surface,

- a product holder for coupling of the product with the base element, - product fastening means for providing a permanent or semi-periaanent fastening of the product holder with the product,

- coupling means and a coupling assembly for provid- ing a mutual coupling between the coupling means and the coupling assembly along a ring shape,

- the coupling means having an arrangement for engagement along at least a part of the ring shape,

- the coupling assembly having locking in means in which the locking in means are movable from an open position to a locking in position, in which:

- in the locking in position the locking in means lock in along the ring shape, such that the coupling means are freely rotatable along the ring shape.

Such a display stands according to the present invention provides as an advantage that the product is displayed very accessible on the one hand and is secured to a high degree on the other hand because the coupling means are freely rotatable along the ring shape. Because of this, the safety of the product is determined to a high degree. Because the product is freely rotatable relative to the base element, breaking forces cannot be exerted to the product especially because of the free rotatability . Because of this, it becomes possible to embody the fas- tening between the product and the product holder independently of such breaking forces. Because the product holder does not have a rotational blockade, the product cannot be broken loose by means of a shifting force in the rotatable direction. Furthermore, the free rotatability provides a high convenience to the user because the user can observe and use the product in each rotational orientation which optimally provides aspects of attractiveness and accessibility. According to a first preferred embodiment, the display stand comprises the product fastening means and the coupling means. This is advantageous as these can be provided in a substantially simple disk shape. This provides further advantages according to a further preferred embodiments as is described in the following.

According to a further preference, the coupling means comprise a ring-shaped flange or an discontinuous ring- shaped flange. Such a flange is producible in a simple manner and fits with the desirability of rotatability.

According to a further preferred embodiment, in the display stand, the coupling assembly comprises a stationary part and a movable part which each form a part of the locking in means and which both extend along a part of the ring shape. Applying a stationary part and a movable part provides as advantage a simple construction relative to 2 or more movable parts .

According to a further preferred embodiment, the stationary part and the movable part substantially form a channel along the ring shape for holding the coupling means therein. As such, a high degree of firmness is provided by locking in of the coupling means along the substantially whole ring-shaped.

Alternatively, the coupling means comprise an in- wardly directed flange, preferably at least partially ring-shaped, and in which the lock in means are insertable from the opened position by means of the inwardly directed flange and move inward in the movement towards the lock in position into the inwardly directed flange. This realizes that both an embodiment is available in which the movement from the open position towards the lock in position is directed inwardly and an embodiment in which the movement from the open position towards the lock in position is directed outwardly.

According to a further preferred embodiment, the coupling assembly is arranged at the product holder and the coupling means are arranged at the base element, there with, it is realized that both an embodiment is available in which the coupling assembly is arranged at the base element and a preferred embodiment in which the coupling assembly is arranged at the product holder.

Relating to these preferred embodiments, the presently most preferred preferred embodiment is described in the following relating to the attached drawings.

For the purpose of a reliable attachment of the product to the product holder,' in a further preferred embodi- ment, the product attachment means comprise adhesive means for adhering to the product, such as by means of a direct adhesion or by means of a double-sided adhesive tape. With this, an attachment to the product is provided that is in a reliable relation to the requirements in light of the free rotatability in which no locking forces in the plane of rotation or parallel data to can cause breaking off of the product. Some ring of such an attachment by pulling away from the plane is only limitedly achievable or would cause damage to the product that taking away is pointless.

In an alternative manner, it is provided that the product attachment means comprise at least two product fastening arms each having product gripping means for gripping around the edge of the product.

Further preferably, the base element comprises mount- ing means for mounting to the display surface, such as comprising adhesive means and or screwing means. This achieves that the base element is arrangeable at the display surface in a reliable manner. For the purpose of having the product function by means of supplying power, the base element further preferably comprises a through opening for guiding through of a cable, such as a power cable and or an alarm cable comprising a connector for connecting the product.

For the purpose of realizing a predetermined orientation for providing a possible displaying in a manner as attractive and accessible as possible, in a further preferred embodiment, the display stand comprises positioning means for perceptibly blocking of the product holder in an orientation relative to the base element. Further preferably, the positioning means are provided as a pressing member under bias, such as a at least one opening in the product holder. This realizes for example that the product is in a portrayed or a landscape orientation when the click connection is engaging. Further preferably, the both orientations in portrait and the both orientations in landscape are provided with a similar fixation that may be pushed away.

According to a further preferred embodiment, the coupling assembly comprises a slide guidance for slidingly moving of a movable part of the locking means. This provides that a robust locking in is realized that is operat- able in a simple manner.

Further preferably, the display stand comprises a lock, such as a cylinder lock, for keeping in the locking position of a movable part of the lock in means. It is provided that such a cylinder lock may be operated by means of a key, and also by means of an electronic key or a wireless key. Alternatively, it is provided that such a lock is operable by means of a secured application on a mobile device. Further preferably, the product on the product holder is arranged at an angle relative to the display surface, in which the angle lies within a range of 5-40°, preferably 10-30", further preferably 10-20°, further preferably around 15°.

A further aspect of the present invention relates to a method for securely displaying a product while applying a display stand according to one or more of the preceding claims, the method comprising steps of:

- providing the display stand,

- arranging the display stand at a display surface,

- attaching the product to the product holder,

- coupling of the product holder to the base element. Such aspect provides advantages as described in rela- tion to the preceding aspect.

Further advantages, features and details of the present invention will be described in greater detail hereinbelow on the basis of one or more preferred embodiments with reference to the accompanying figures. Similar though not nec- essarily identical components of different preferred embodiments are designated with the same reference numerals.

Fig. 1 is a schematic representation in perspective of a first preferred embodiment according to the present invention with a coupling assembly in the opened position.

Fig. 2 is a further schematic representation in a further perspective of the preferred embodiment with the coupling assembly in the lock in position.

Fig. 3 is a section view in perspective of the preferred embodiments.

Fig. 4 is an exploded Sideview of the preferred embodiment .

Fig. 5 is a further representation in perspective of the preferred embodiment . Fig. 6 is an exploded view of the preferred embodiment with our mission of the outer wall of the base element .

A first preferred embodiment (Fig. 1-6) according to the preferred embodiment relates to a display stand one. The display stand comprises a product holder 3 that is em bodied as a substantially disc-shaped element with a top surface 6 and a flange 5 arranged underneath, that is in- sertable in a channel 7, T of the base element. In the lock in position of channel 7 of the movable part of the coupling assembly 4, the edge 8 is arranged in a ring- shaped channel between the lines 5 and the top surface 6 of the product holder 3.

Because the flange 5 is endlessly rotatable in the channel 7, 7', it is realized that the product can rotate freely with the product holder because of which, for breaking away of the product no forces can be exerted on the product by means of rotation thereof. Because of this the product is protected to a considerable extent and dis played in a manner comfortable and accessible to the viewer.

The product holder 3 further comprises four through openings 11 cooperating with the ball 12 that is arranged under airport bias in the surface 14 of the base element. Because of this, it is realized that the product holder i likely blocked in a tangible manner when the ball 12 reaches into the through openings. Because of this, the comfort and the accessibility of the product is increased because the product is temporary arrangeable in a discern' ible manner in a predetermined, yet desirable orientation while the free rotation with the move ability advantage i: also maintained. The part 7 of the channel, of the base element is formed in the lock in position of the movable lock in element 21 of the coupling assembly 4. The part 7' of the channel is formed by the fixed lock in element 22 of the coupling assembly 4,

The base element is formed from an outer wall 18 with under wall 31 therein with two support walls 32, 33 thereon for arranging parts thereto. The fixed lock in element 22 is attached by means of two screws 38 to these two support walls 32, 33. A movable slide 24 is provided with a recess 29 for receiving a locking member 41 of the lock 15 therein. The movable part 21 of the coupling assembly 4 is arranged at the slides 24 by means of 2 screws 25. A push spring 45 arranged around the guiding pin 44 provides a bias to the slides 24 in the direction of the arrow B.

The lock is shown in Fig. 3 in a locked condition. In this locked condition, the blocking member 41 of the lock blocks the slides. When the lock is rotated in the direc- tion of the arrow A, the blocking member 41 leaves the recess 29 of the slide because of which, the spring 45 pushes the slide in the direction of the arrow B, because of which the movable part 21 of the coupling assembly for slides open because of which the channel 7, T is opened such that the product holder with the flange 5 can be taken out.

While the push spring 45 keeps the slide open in the direction of the arrow B, the hook 48 is held upwardly and the bias of the spring 49. Upon pushing the slide against the movable part 21 back again, the blocking member 41 of the lock moves back in the recess 29 of the slide in their bias of the spring 49 that pulls at the hook 48 of the lock. By means of this, the lock is automatically locked again when pushing the slide to a closed position and the channel Ί, T remains in the lock in position,

Through the opening 52, a cable can be guided towards the product, which cable can be guided through the opening 51 towards and through the display surface. Furthermore, the bolts 35 function to fasten the display stand to this display surface.

The present invention has been described in the foregoing on the basis Of several preferred embodiments. Different aspects of different embodiments are deemed described in combination with each other, wherein all combinations which can be deemed by a skilled person in the field as falling within the scope of the invention on the basis of reading of this document are included. These preferred embodiments are not limitative for the scope of protection of this document. The rights sought are defined in the appended claims .
