Abstract:
Provided is a display system with which it is possible to achieve weight reduction and visibility improvement of VR goggles. A display system according to an embodiment of the present invention involves displaying an image for a user, the system comprising: a display element having a display surface for emitting light, that is representing an image, forward through a polarizing member; a reflective polarizing member that is disposed at the front of the display element and that reflects light emitted from the display element; a first lens part disposed on an optical path between the display element and the reflective polarizing member; a half mirror that is disposed between the display element and the first lens part, that transmits therethrough light emitted from the display element, and that reflects the light reflected by the reflective polarizing member toward the reflective polarizing member; a second lens part disposed at the front of the reflective polarizing member; a first λ/4 member disposed on an optical path between the display element and the half mirror; a second λ/4 member disposed on an optical path between the half mirror and the reflective polarizing member; and a protective member that is disposed on an optical path between the display element and the half mirror and/or an optical path between the half mirror and the second lens part. The protective member has a 5-degree regular reflectance at the wavelength of 450 nm being 0.3% or less, a 5-degree regular reflectance at the wavelength of 600 nm being 0.3% or less, a 30-degree regular reflectance at the wavelength of 450 nm being 0.5% or less, and a 30-degree regular reflectance at the wavelength of 600 nm being 0.5% or less. The ratio of the 5-degree regular reflectance at the wavelength of 420 nm to the 30-degree regular reflectance at the wavelength of 420 nm is 0.1-10, and the ratio of the 5-degree regular reflectance at the wavelength of 680 nm to the 30-degree regular reflectance at the wavelength of 680 nm is 0.1-10.
