A distance detection-based control method for a clothes treatment device, and a clothes treatment device, wherein the clothes treatment device comprises an actuating part, and the control method comprises: detecting in real time the distance between a moving body and a clothes treatment device; calculating the amount of change in the distance; during, before or after calculating the amount of change in the distance, comparing the distance to a predetermined distance threshold value; according to the comparison result and in combination with the amount of change in the distance, determining the movement trend of the moving body relative to the clothes treatment device; and according to the determination result, controlling the action of the actuating part. The described control method and the device enable the accurate determination of the movement trend of a user before the user arrives at a clothes treatment device so as to implement the accurate control of the actuating part, and simplify the operation process of the user, thereby saving time, being highly efficient and energy-saving, and improving the convenience of use.
