Abstract:
[Problem] Conventional distance measuring devices have a problem in that control such as light source or exposure adjustments, or selective use of pixel modes, performed when measurements are taken in accordance with each distance range, leads to an increase in the complexity of a hardware control method and an increase in the scale of the hardware. [Solution] This distance measuring device is characterized by comprising a segment data integrating unit (106) for distributing received-light data into each divided distance segment and outputting integrated segment data, a segment data normalizing unit (107) for outputting normalized segment data, a variable distance calculating unit (108) which is provided with first to Pth calculating units and which uses the normalized segment data to output a measured distance, and a data determining unit (105) which uses at least one item of information among a control signal from a control unit (104), the normalized segment data, and the measured distance to output an arithmetic expression selection signal, wherein the variable distance calculating unit (108) that has received the arithmetic expression selection signal switches and performs first to Qth (an integer at least equal to 2 and at most equal to P) distance measurement calculations within a measured distance range.
