Abstract:
[Problem] To efficiently identify, among a plurality of devices connected to a network, a device capable of supplying data requested for provision of a service. [Solution] A distributed device management system 10 for identifying, among a plurality of devices 16 connected to a network, a device 16 capable of supplying requested data for use in providing a service. Device management functional units 14 are arranged so as to be distributed geographically, and manage the state of devices located in the region in which the device management functional units are arranged. A device identification functional unit 12 has a device query cache database 1 for recording a response log, which includes the type of data requested by a service in the past, and an identifier for a device management functional unit 14 having subordinate thereto a device 16 that was capable of providing the data. When the currently requested data matches a type of data included in the response log, the device management functional unit 14 associated with the requested data in the response log is queried.
