Title:
DNS SERVER, GATEWAYS AND METHODS FOR MANAGING AN IDENTIFIER OF A PORT RANGE IN THE TRANSMISSION OF DATA
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2011/117534
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
The invention relates to a DNS server (110) and to a method for managing a DNS request, said method comprising a step (E2) consisting in receiving a DNS request for access to a remote application (104B) accessible via a gateway (106B) and a step (E3) consisting in transmitting a DNS response containing the IP address of the gateway (106B). The method also includes a verification step for determining if an identifier of a port range is stored in the DNS server (110) associated with the IP address of the gateway (106B) and, in the affirmative, a step in which the identifier is inserted into the DNS response prior to the transmission thereof. The invention further relates to a method for transmitting data from a first gateway (106A) to a second gateway (106B), a method for transmitting data from a gateway (106B) to a server (102B) of a local network (LAN_B), and the gateways (106A, 106B) for performing said methods.
