Abstract:
This Doherty amplifier is provided with: a first main amplifying element (5) which amplifies a first signal; a second main amplifying element (6) which amplifies the first signal after amplification by the first main amplifying element (5); a first auxiliary amplifying element (7) which amplifies a second signal; a second auxiliary amplifying element (8) which amplifies the second signal after amplification by the first auxiliary amplifying element (7); a combining circuit (9) which combines the first signal after amplification by the second main amplifying element (6) and the second signal after amplification by the second auxiliary amplifying element (8); and a first phase adjusting circuit (13) connected between the first auxiliary amplifying element (7) and the second auxiliary amplifying element (8). Furthermore, the Doherty amplifier is configured such that, during back-off operation of the second auxiliary amplifying element (8), the first phase adjusting circuit (13) adjusts the phase of a feedback signal, where the first signal after amplification by the second main amplifying element (6) serves as said feedback signal, directed toward the first auxiliary amplifying element (7) or adjusts the phase of the feedback signal directed toward the second auxiliary amplifying element (8), in such a way that, in the operating frequency band of the first signal, the sum of the phase of the feedback signal that is directed toward the first auxiliary amplifying element (7) as a result of passing through the second auxiliary amplifying element (8), and the phase of the feedback signal that is directed toward the second auxiliary amplifying element (8) as a result of the feedback signal being reflected by the first auxiliary amplifying element (7), is not zero degrees.
