Description:
DOOR CLOSER

This invention is a door closer comprising of a channel < 1 ) , with removable cover (2-, that is attached to the head of the door frame parallel to the closed door.

The door closer is activated by attaching one end of a flexible cord, wire, plastic or similar material <5>, to the top of the door a short distance from the hinge style. The other end of the cord is passed through the side of the channel, round a 90° turn using a pulley <3), or grooved quadrant of some type, and attached to a spring <6-,gas strut or rubber stretch returnable material, that is lying appo ima ely parallel to the sides of the channel.

The other end of the spring is attached to the channel _7> with tension applied to the spring. As the door is opened, the .cord is pulled away from tha: channel passing over the pulley and tensioning the spring further.

When the door is released, the tensioned spring pulls the door back into the closed position.

The tension on the spring is adjusted by various positions of attachment <S).

The cord is attached to the door permanently or with a clip to .--na le the cord to be detached < 4 > .
