Abstract:
A door opening/closing device 10 comprises: a first drive unit 24A which opens and closes a front side door 4A; a second drive unit 24B which opens and closes a rear side door 4B; a first detection unit 13A which repeatedly detects the distance to a first to-be-detected object present within a first detection range 16A; a second detection unit 13B which repeatedly detects the distance to a second to-be-detected object present within a second detection range 16B; and a control unit 28 which opens and closes the side doors 4A, 4B upon detecting that a moving object subjected to detection has performed predetermined actions Ma-Mc each composed of multiple phases. The control unit 28 determines from which of the orientations of a vehicle 2, that is, frontward, rearward, or side, the moving object is approaching, and executes one of a first process for driving only the first drive unit 24A, a second process for driving only the second drive unit 24B, and a third process for driving both of the first and second drive units 24A, 24B.
