Abstract:
Provided is a door locking device that allows a user to easily ascertain whether a deadbolt is locked or unlocked even with the lights are out. The door locking device comprises a knob (6), a latch bolt (8) latched by rotation of the knob (6), a thumb turn (9), and a deadbolt (10) that is caused to lock and unlock the door (3) by rotation of the thumb turn (9). The thumb turn (9) has a base surface (9b) that is exposed into a room, and a handle (9a) that projects into the room from the base surface (9b). A light-emitting member is attached either to the base surface (9b) or to the front surface of the handle (9a), and a light-emitting member is not attached to the other surface, whereby a contrasting pattern is formed in which the front surface of the handle stands out from the bottom surface when the lights are out. The light-emitting member includes a light-storing material and/or a fluorescent material.
