Abstract:
A double-walled structure pipe for a low-temperature fluid is equipped with an inner pipe in which a low-temperature fluid flows through the interior thereof, and an outer pipe fitted onto the inner pipe with a tightly sealed cylindrical space interposed therebetween. The cylindrical space between the inner pipe and the outer pipe is filled with an inert gas having a melting point and boiling point no lower than the temperature of the low-temperature fluid. When the low-temperature fluid flows through the interior of the inner pipe, the inert gas is liquefied or solidified, and a liquefied inert gas layer and/or a solidified inert gas layer are/is formed on the outer-circumferential surface of the inner pipe, resulting in the formation in the cylindrical space of a pseudo-vacuum layer similar to a vacuum.
