One aspect of the present invention is a drive device that rotates an axle of a vehicle, the drive device being provided with: a motor; a housing that accommodates the motor; an oil passage provided to the housing; an oil pump provided to the housing, a portion of the oil passage being disposed in the oil pump; and a strainer provided inside the housing, a portion of the passage being disposed in the strainer. The oil passage has an oil reservoir which is disposed inside the housing and in which oil accumulates, and a suction path that links the oil reservoir and the oil pump. A first center axis that is the center axis of the oil pump extends in a direction crossing the vertical direction. The strainer is positioned on the suction path. The strainer has a suction port for suctioning oil from the oil reservoir, a discharge port for discharging the oil toward the oil pump, and a filter provided inside the strainer and positioned between the suction port and the discharge port. The suction port opens downward in the vertical direction. The discharge port opens toward the oil pump in a direction crossing the vertical direction.
