Abstract:
One mode of this drive device is a drive device that causes an axle of a vehicle to rotate, wherein said drive device comprises: a motor having a rotor and a stator; a housing; a temperature sensor capable of detecting the temperature of the motor; and an oil passage via which oil is supplied from the vertically upper side to the stator. The stator has a stator core, and a coil assembly having a plurality of coils attached to the stator core. The coil assembly has a terminal unit that is positioned further to one side than a motor shaft in a designated direction orthogonal to both the axial direction and the vertical direction of the motor shaft. The temperature sensor is provided to a part of the coil assembly positioned further to one side in the prescribed direction than the motor shaft. The temperature sensor is positioned further vertically downward than the terminal unit, and further vertically upward than the vertically downward end unit of the rotor.
