Abstract:
A drive power transmission device having an input shaft to which drive power is
inputted and also having an output shaft from which the drive power received by
the input shaft is outputted. The drive power transmission device has a braking
mechanism and a mechanism for releasing braking. The braking mechanism causes
the output shaft to be rotatable integrally with the input shaft and also limits
the rotation of the output shaft. When the output shaft is made rotatable integrally
with the input shaft, the drive power is more effectively transmitted from the
input shaft to the output shaft with rotation of the output shaft limited when
the input shaft has no drive power input. The mechanism for releasing braking
releases the limitation on the rotation of the output shaft by the braking mechanism,
and the release is made by using the drive power inputted in the input shaft.
