Abstract:

A drive system (1) drives a multi-phase AC motor (2) having a plurality of windings. The drive system (1) comprises a first power conversion unit (3U), a second power conversion unit (3V), a first conversion control unit (20U), and a second conversion control unit (20V). In the first power conversion unit (3U), current flows to first phase windings of the multi-phase AC motor (2). In the second power conversion unit (3V), current flows to second phase windings of the multi-phase AC motor (2). The first conversion control unit (20U) determines either a three-level phase voltage waveform or a five-level phase voltage waveform based on setting information that specifies the type of phase voltage waveform, and controls the first power conversion unit (3U) to have the determined phase voltage waveform outputted from the first power conversion unit (3U). The second conversion control unit (20V) controls the second power conversion unit (3V) based on the setting information that specifies the type of phase voltage waveform to have the same type of phase voltage waveform as the phase voltage waveform of the first power conversion unit (3U) outputted from the second power conversion unit (3V).
