Abstract:
The present invention provides a drive unit and a method for attaching the same with which it is possible to improve the ease of attaching the drive unit to an attachment object. A limiting member 80 is configured so as to limit the rotation of a drum 60 when a lock member 74 has fixed a pulley 71 in a first position P1, and to allow rotation of the drum 60 when a coil spring 73 has caused the pulley 71 to move to a second position P2. This makes it possible to prevent rotation of the drum 60 in the state (vehicle mounting preparation state) before attaching the drive unit 30 to a vehicle body. Therefore, it is possible to prevent a pair of cables 23, 24 from loosening inside a drum housing and catching on other constituent components. Accordingly, it is possible to improve the ease of attaching the drive unit 30 to a vehicle body.
