Abstract:
Provided are a driving assistance method and a driving assistance device (14) that: predict whether a vehicle (V) being driven by the steering operation of a driver will depart from the lane (L) during travel; acquire a departure direction in which the vehicle (V) departs from the lane (L) and the turning direction of the vehicle (V), when it is predicted that the vehicle (V) will depart from the lane (L), and determine whether the departure direction and the turning direction are the same direction; and, when it is determined that the departure direction and the turning direction are the same direction, execute a steering control such that the steering wheel of the vehicle (V) does not turn in the departure direction and the vehicle (V) does not depart from the lane (L).
