Abstract:
In a drowsiness estimation device (10), an image acquisition unit (11) acquires an image capturing an occupant of a vehicle. A facial portion detection unit (12) detects each portion of the face of the occupant on the basis of the image of the occupant captured by the image acquisition unit (11). An AVA part temperature acquisition unit (13) acquires the temperature of arteriovenous anastomoses parts of the portions of the face of the occupant detected by the facial portion detection unit (12). A reference temperature acquisition unit (14) acquires, as a reference temperature, the temperature of a specific portion, excluding the arteriovenous anastomoses parts, among the portions of the face of the occupant detected by the facial portion detection unit (12). A drowsiness estimation unit (15) estimates a drowsiness level of the occupant on the basis of the difference between the temperature of the arteriovenous anastomoses parts of the face of the occupant acquired by the AVA part temperature acquisition unit (13) and the reference temperature acquired by the reference temperature acquisition unit (14).
