Abstract:
Provided are a drug administration apparatus and method for supporting target concentration control injection. An automatic drug administration method according to an embodiment of the present invention involves: setting a target drug concentration of a patient; measuring the drug concentration in the patient's blood; comparing the measured drug concentration in the blood with the set target drug concentration to determine whether to inject the drug; and, if the determination is made to inject the drug, calculating the dose of the drug to be injected and administering the calculated dose of the drug to the patient. Accordingly, by administering the correct dose of the drug at the correct time by adaptively determining the injection rate and dose of the drug on the basis of the drug concentration in the blood and the condition of the patient, it is possible to both prevent drug misuse by the patient and maximize the ability of the patient to recover from the drug.
