The drug delivery method, which delivers a drug (21) inside a container (5), the opening (23) of which is sealed by an elastic plug (25), from the needle (27) of a syringe (9) into the syringe (9) by operating a container holder(15) that holds the container (5) and a syringe holder (3) that holds the syringe (9) by means of driving mechanisms (53, 57, 67), comprises a gas intake process (S3), a puncturing process (S4), a liquid delivery process (S5), and a gas delivery process (S6). In the gas intake process (S3), gas is drawn into the syringe (9). In the puncturing process (S4), the needle (27) of the syringe (9) punctures the container (5) by piercing the elastic plug (25) of the container (5). In the liquid delivery process (S5), subsequent to the puncturing process (S4), the tip of the needle (27) is positioned in the liquid phase (21) of the drug inside the container (5) and a prescribed volume of the drug (21) inside the container (5) is delivered into the syringe (9) by drawing the plunger (33) of the syringe (9). In the gas delivery process (S6), subsequent to the liquid delivery process (S5), the tip of the needle (27) is positioned in the gas phase (63) inside the container (5) and gas inside the syringe (9) that is equivalent to said prescribed volume is delivered into the container by pressing the plunger (33).
