Title:
DRUG-SUSTAINED RELEASE CARRIER
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2004/050712
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
It is intended to provide a completely biodegradable and highly safe sustained release preparation of a protein or a peptide in which the protein or the peptide can be enclosed at a high enclosure ratio without inhibiting its biological activity. Namely, a process for producing a hyaluronic acid derivative gel characterized by comprising crosslinking and hydrogelling a hyaluronic acid derivative, which has hydrazide introduced into hyaluronic acid (HA), in a solution of pH 6 or below in the coexistence of a protein or a peptide. Thus, the protein or the peptide can be efficiently enclosed in the hydrogel and sustainedly released therefrom while maintaining its biological activity.
