Abstract:
A drum-type washing machine (101) is provided with a drum (103) rotatably supported by a horizontal or inclined rotating shaft (103a), a drive motor (112) for rotatably driving the drum (103), and a water tank (102) for accommodating the drum (103). The washing machine (101) also has an annular container for storing moving elements including rolling elements (109A, 109B) and/or viscous fluids (110A, 110B), and the washing machine is provided with a first balancer placed in the front end of the drum (103) and a second balancer placed in the rear end of the drum (103). Furthermore, the first balancer and the second balancer are configured so that when the drum (103) starts to rotate, the rotational speed at which the moving elements in the annular container of the first balancer begin rotatably moving past the highest part of the annular container is different from the rotational speed at which the moving elements in the annular container of the second balancer begin rotatably moving past the highest part of the annular container.
