Provided is a drum-type washing machine able to reduce the adherence of laundered items to the sides of the drum subsequent to the spin cycle. The drum-type washing machine is provided with: an agitating body (24) arranged at the rear of the drum (22); a drive unit able to cause rotation of the drum (22) and of the agitating body (24) by means of a double drive-shaft form or a single drive-shaft form, the single drive-shaft form causing the drum (22) and the agitating body (24) to rotate as a single unit, with the agitating body (24) rotating at a speed identical to that of the drum (22), and the double drive-shaft form causing the drum (22) and the agitating body (24) to rotate separately, with the agitating body (24) rotating at a speed superior to that of the drum (22); and a control portion for controlling the actions of the drive unit. After the spin cycle, and by means of the control portion causing the drive unit to drive rotation of the drum (22) and of the agitating body (24) on the basis of the double drive-shaft form, laundered items which during the spin cycle have adhered to the sides of the drum (22) are caused by contact with the agitating body (24) to become unstuck from said sides in an unsticking process.
