Abstract:
Disclosed are a dry-type torque converter for an electric vehicle and a controlling method thereof. A dry-type torque converter for an electric vehicle according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a planetary gear in which a first element is connected to an input shaft, a second element is connected to an output shaft, and a third element is variably connected to a fixing unit; at least one frictional force generator which is provided between the first element and the second element and generates a frictional force due to slip contact so as to be controlled by the speed of the output shaft; a front cover which is integrally connected to the input shaft and the first element and is coupled to a back cover so as to include the planetary gear therein; and a one-way clutch which regulates one-way connection between the third element and the fixing unit to be connected to each other.
