Abstract:
Provided is a drying apparatus that is capable of assuredly drying ink by assuredly discharging water vapor generated as a result of drying. The drying apparatus comprises: a conveyance means that has an outer circumferential surface for winding thereonto a subject recording medium having ink applied thereto while coming into contact with the subject recording medium and that conveys the subject recording medium being in contact with the outer circumferential surface while heating the same through a conveyance path along the outer circumferential surface; a cover member that faces the outer circumferential surface and forms a prescribed space between the cover member and the outer circumferential surface along the conveyance path; an air supply port for supplying air in the prescribed space; and air discharge ports for discharging air from the prescribed space. The plurality of air discharge ports are disposed facing the outer circumferential surface.
