Abstract:
A dual polarization radiation unit and planar dipole thereof are provided. The planar dipole comprises: a dipole portion with two orthogonal half-wave dipoles which are composed of four dipole arms, wherein each dipole arm is in the shape of square frame, the dipole arms are arranged in the shape of square with the same row space and column space, and feed points of each half-wave dipole are disposed at the opposite corners of the two dipole arms forming the half-wave dipole; a connection portion which is connected to the periphery of each dipole arm, thereby implementing the interconnection among all the dipole arms; and a dielectric substrate on which the dipole portion and the connection portion are printed, and via holes corresponding to the feed points are disposed. The present invention has advantages as follows: simple structure brought by the connection between the planar dipole and a balance feed connector, antenna features of broad bandwidth and high gain brought at least by the dipole arms in the shape of square frame, and current balance changing within the radiation plate brought by the connection among the ends of the dipole arms through the connection portion, thereby improving the cross-polarization ratio of the antenna.
