Abstract:
Provided is a duplex stainless steel material that has excellent whole surface corrosion resistance and pitting corrosion resistance in a supercritical corrosive environment in which supercritical CO2 gas contains SOX gas and O2 gas. This duplex stainless steel material has the chemical composition described in the specification, and assuming that the content of each element is within the ranges indicated in the specification, Fn as defined in formula (1) is 57.0 or greater, and the total number per 1 mm2 of Mn sulfides having an equivalent circle diameter of at least 1.0 µm and Ca sulfides having an equivalent circle diameter of at least 2.0 µm is 0.50/mm2 or less. (1): Fn = Cr + 3.3(Mo + 0.5W) + 16N + 2Ni + Cu + 2Co + 10Sn. In formula (1), the chemical symbols represent the content in mass% of the corresponding element.
