Abstract:
The present invention provides a duplex stainless steel material which has high strength and excellent toughness at low temperatures. A duplex stainless steel material according to the present disclosure contains, in mass%, 0.030% or less of C, 0.20% to 1.00% of Si, 0.50% to 7.00% of Mn, 0.040% or less of P, 0.0200% or less of S, 0.100% or less of Al, 4.20% to 9.00% of Ni, 20.00% to 30.00% of Cr, 0.50% to 2.00% of Mo, 0.50% to 3.00% of Cu, 0.150% to 0.350% of N and 0.01% to 1.50% of V, with the balance being made up of Fe and impurities, while having a yield strength of 552 MPa or more. With respect to this duplex stainless steel material, if austenite phases having a breadth of 20 µm or more are defined as primary austenite and the other austenite phases are defined as secondary austenite, the microstructure is composed of 35% to 55% of ferrite, 40% to 55% of primary austenite and 5% to 20% of secondary austenite.
